Vincent Mami - CMC Snowboarder
Vincent Mami had the awesome opportunity to join Steamboat's local Sk8 Church to take an adventure down to Woodward Copper, an indoor action sports training playground for all athletes. The Barn features multiple skate/scooter/bmx zones, six different levels of foam pit jumps, indoor ParkSki™ and Burton ParkBoard™ training, springfloor, tumble track, five Olympic-grade flybed trampolines and one 12'x12' Super Trampoline, The Barn has everything you need to practice your moves and have tons of fun in every session.
On your adventure with Sk8 Church to Woodward Copper,
1. How did you get down to Copper?
-Sk8 Church provided a bus for transportation so that everyone that wanted to go to Copper had a way to get there.
2. What did you do there?
-I spent most of my time jumping on the trampolines practicing new flips and riding down the ramps on the roller boards into the foam pits, working on new tricks and spins.
3. Explain that roller board
- So it a snowboard that has snowboard bindings attached like a regular board but it has wheels on the bottom so that it can roll down the ramp smoothly into the pit. At first, it was a little weird to get used to because you had to make sure that you pointed the board straight down since there’s no edges.
4. What was the best part of the entire trip?
-For me, the best part of Woodward was the foam pit. It was a lot of fun being able to just send it into the air and throw whatever trick I wanted to without worrying about landing wrong and getting injured. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is trying to improve their abilities or just looking for a fun time.
